Do you remember your first big move as a child? When I was in the sixth grade, we moved from Andrews Avenue to Walton Avenue in the Bronx. My parents were thrilled when we went from a fourth-floor walkup apartment to an elevator building. I, on the other hand, would return to my old neighborhood every day for months.
I’m older now and I see change as an adventure, a time for growth. So, I’m happy to tell you that we are preparing to move Bond 45 to 221 West 46th Street at the Edison Hotel — and we have a lot more to be happy about than an elevator. The new Bond 45 will have two floors, a lively and spirited space for theatergoers, Broadway VIPs, visitors to the City, and, of course, our regular guests. Situated on 46th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue, we’re surrounded by many theaters: the Richard Rodgers with Hamilton and the Marquis with On Your Feet! across the street, the Lunt-Fontanne with Finding Neverland next door, and nearly a dozen more theaters playing hit shows within a few blocks. In the near future, several beautiful new buildings will open down the street making our block one of the most exciting locations in the neighborhood.
The new Bond will introduce a wonderful new menu that features many of your favorite meals and a selection of new items including a Lobsteria and a Prosciutteria. We’ll have a Producers’ Corner on the main floor and The Patio on the lower level, where you can enjoy our lounge (along with two fireplaces), brunch at all hours and more. You’ll feel right at home in our new space which will have the same light fixtures, tiles, banquets, booths, chairs, artwork, and, of course, the name plaques we have been collecting for nearly 20 years. All this is being done with the help of David Korins (who is also the scenic designer for Hamilton).
Most importantly, when you visit us at the new location, you’ll see familiar faces: our beloved managers — Antonio, Justin, Kira, Sean, Eduard, Carlos — and our chefs Luis and Brando (our Corporate Executive Chef). I’ll be around and so will our management and sales team — Paolo, Jerry, Carmen, Andrea, and Beth.
We are planning to reopen Bond 45 on 46th Street in the Spring of 2016. Anyone who has lived through a renovation knows that no finish date is ever firm. We will keep you abreast of our progress on bond45ny.com or follow us @Bond45NYC. In the meantime, we hope you will visit us at our other restaurants: Café Fiorello (across from Lincoln Center), Brooklyn Diner (in Times Square and on 57th Street), Trattoria Dell’Arte and Redeye Grill (across from Carnegie Hall), or Florian (in Union Square).
Thank you all for being our guests — we deeply appreciate and care about you.
We love you and hope to see you soon.
